The Market-Direction Gate is the CANSLIM “M” rule that blocks most buys when the tape is weak. Loosen it if too many signals are being rejected — cash checks, exposure caps and every other guardrail still apply.

When ON: signals at/above min-confidence and under the cap auto-execute on your active account. Above the cap (or below confidence) still needs manual approval. When OFF: every actionable signal waits for your approval. Guardrails always apply.
